Introduction of Bukit Tabur but sound better to call it Mount Tabur in Melawati !
Mount Tabur as can be seen from Karak Highway Gombak Toll (on right) is famous for a name - Klang Gates Quartz Ridge. It stretches for over 22 kilometres, is only 200 metres wide and is made almost purely of quartz. From one sight you see the best view of Kuala Lumpur Skyline and next you see the serene nature and mountainous with immediate reach of Klang Gates Dam. This is where your KL Water are supplied.
This trip was plan for last week Saturday but due to hectic schedule of mine, we were in Endau Rompin earlier date did filming, Bigtree team seems upset by this call off. Hence I have to ensure the outing to be carried out for sure on Saturday 19 May 2012. Total we have 16 person + 1 boyfriend & 1 husband of 2 staffs. All are welcome as we wanted to make this trip to be a family and Teams Matters, Happy to be with love one too. While one can live healthy, exercise healthy, this trip surely open the team's eyes, sweat sweat sweat....keeping fit.
We are suppose the leave office at 1pm, then delay to 1.30pm, finally we left office at 2pm sharp. reaches the foothill at 3pm after ding-dong a bit buying ice, fill up diesel into van and play some mouse & cat chase + the heavy traffic on MRR2 heading to Zoo Negara area. Actually am a bit disorientated, misses / took faster turn to right heading back to KL instead of going into Melawati Garden. As usual, I took every error as learning curve as casual as possible. Hence I proceeded to Esso to fill up first RM 20 diesel + calling uncle Nick to find out the actual and convincing turn into Melawati Garden. Once reaches the foothill, changed into trekking shoes and gear, most of the team members are new to such outdoor.
For the first 20 minutes climb which we call it warm up, we have to scramble on a narrow, rocky path that undulates over exposed craggy patches, scrub vegetation and even some forested plateaus. The ecosystem changes are noticeable when we look at the flora and fauna when we climb one level to another higher level.
Archana mumbling a little, but kept going on, never give up. That's very sportmanship. Different from other softer ladies, I think so.
Many pictures taken, much sweat drops, noticeable that In brief, the terrain offers a challenging, enjoyable and exhausting outdoor hike. Seems BigTree Team indeed needs more training and encouragement, but this is really not bad, seems Sasi, MayLim, Sandy, looks a big soft, another words, "taufu" but except some grumbling some fun, all made it to the top, errr...not till the end of the top but at least to a scale of 8 based on scale of 10.
Fredinence and Alan's walk too fast, jumping, running like just release from detention. No doubt both are bouncy and light footed, the body weight does matters. Both have disappeared from our view, I mean me, Bhanesh & Girlie. Bhanesh non stop chasing payment, else stopping group. Girlie is not bad based on errr....first time as claim after 5,6, err...lets make it 10 years no climbing, managed to reach , I think point 1 before returning back to foothill on her own. Congrate Girlie, really not bad already......While the rest proceeded to upper level.
Finally Fredinence wish came true. Rains came, early stage was thinking we could take shade under the trees but the rain became heavier. Finally we made decision to descend. Everyone was drenched, all wet. No toilet, no place to changed. Some never thought of bringing clothes or pants to change....what an experience.
Next will be another mountain, simpler or tougher ? It is up to anyone guess but we will make it compulsory if possible to shape the team, TeamBuilding not by saying, but by participating, also shape up team members ! I hope no one took MC after all drenched up. That's the purposed of Saturday activities, you have Sunday to MC , I mean REST.........Enjoy !
